Who Needs a Level III NICU?
Babies who may require care in a Level III NICU include:
- Premature babies: Born before 37 weeks of gestation.
- Babies with low birth weight: Weighing less than 2.5 kilograms at birth.
- Babies with breathing difficulties Require respiratory support, such as mechanical ventilation or continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP).
- Babies with congenital anomalies: Born with birth defects or abnormalities.
- Babies with infections: Needing specialised treatment for infections.
- Babies undergoing surgery: Requiring surgical intervention for various conditions.
