A cesarean section is a major abdominal surgery performed when a vaginal birth isn’t safe or feasible. It may be planned (elective) or urgent. Recovery typically involves:
- Hospital stay: Usually 3 to 4 days, with close monitoring for infection or complications.
- Pain management: Medications, gentle walking, and support while moving or breastfeeding.
- Wound care: Keep the incision clean and dry. Watch for signs of infection such as redness, pus, or fever.
- Emotional healing: It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Whether planned or unplanned, a C-section is a significant experience that deserves acknowledgement and care.
We ensure you’re not just recovering physically, but feeling supported emotionally. Borneo Mother & Child Hospital offers lactation support, physiotherapy, and compassionate care every step of the way.
