Cesarean Birth

Cesarean Birth

A C-section might be planned ahead if there are known risks (like placenta previa, breech position, or multiple babies), or it can be decided during labor if things aren’t going as expected — like stalled labor or signs of distress in the baby.

In such instances, the safest way for your baby to be born is through a cesarean section — a surgical delivery where the baby is born through a cut made in your abdomen and uterus.

The procedure is done under anesthesia (usually spinal or epidural), so you’ll be awake but won’t feel pain. It typically takes about 45 minutes, and you’ll get to meet your baby right after birth.

Recovery takes a bit longer than a vaginal delivery, so rest, support, and gentle movement are key in the first few weeks. At Borneo Mother & Child Hospital, we ensure that even in surgical deliveries, the experience is calm, safe, and as close and connected as possible.
