Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is caused by bacteria transmitted through the bite of infected ticks. It is more common in certain areas and can cause a variety of symptoms, including a characteristic “bull’s-eye” rash.
Symptoms:
- A red, circular rash with a clear center (bull’s-eye pattern)
- Flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, and muscle aches
- Fatigue and headaches
- If left untreated, it can affect the joints, heart, and nervous system.
Treatment:
- Lyme disease is treated with antibiotics. Early treatment is crucial to prevent complications.
- Pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications may be used to manage symptoms.
- If you suspect a tick bite or see the characteristic rash, seek medical attention promptly.
