Nosebleeds
Nosebleeds are common in children and can be caused by dry air, allergies, or nose picking. While they are often harmless, frequent nosebleeds should be evaluated.
Symptoms:
● Bleeding from one or both nostrils
● Dizziness or lightheadedness in some cases
Treatment:
● Pinch the nostrils together and have the child lean forward to avoid swallowing blood.
● Apply a cold compress to the back of the neck.
● Use a saline nasal spray or humidifier to prevent dryness in the nose.
