Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that can lead to bronchiolitis, a severe infection of the lower airways in infants and young children.
Symptoms:
- Runny nose and cough
- Wheezing or difficulty breathing
- Rapid breathing or flaring of the nostrils
- Low-grade fever and irritability
Treatment:
- Supportive care, including fluids and fever management, is often sufficient.
- In severe cases, hospitalization may be required for oxygen therapy or nebulized treatments.
- Avoid exposure to smoke and other respiratory irritants.
