LSCS

A Cesarean section, or C-section, is a surgical way to deliver your baby through a small incision made in the lower abdomen and uterus. It’s called an LSCS — Lower Segment Cesarean Section — and it’s one of the most common and safe birth procedures.

Sometimes, a C-section is planned in advance due to medical reasons like breech position, placenta previa, or previous surgeries. In other cases, it may be done during labor if things don’t go as expected — like if the baby is in distress or labor isn’t progressing.

You’ll be given anesthesia (usually spinal or epidural), so you’re awake but won’t feel pain. The procedure usually takes about 30–45 minutes, and you’ll get to meet your baby almost right away.

Recovery after a C-section takes a bit longer than a normal delivery. You may need to stay in the hospital for a few days and take it easy for a few weeks afterward.

At Borneo Mother & Child Hospital, our team is trained to provide a safe, smooth cesarean experience — with expert care for both mother and baby, before, during, and after birth.
