Prenatal Visits

Prenatal Visits

Prenatal visits are the cornerstone of a healthy pregnancy journey, for both you and your growing baby. These regular check-ups are more than just routine; they’re essential
opportunities for your doctor to monitor your health, track your baby’s development, and identify any concerns early, before they become complications.

Your first prenatal visit usually happens between 6 to 8 weeks of pregnancy. During this visit, your doctor will review your full medical history, perform a physical exam, and recommend initial blood and urine tests. This is also the time to discuss your lifestyle, nutrition, supplements (like folic acid and iron), and any pre-existing health conditions that might need closer monitoring.

As your pregnancy progresses, your visits will follow a typical schedule:
● Once a month until 28 weeks
● Twice a month from 28 to 36 weeks
● Weekly from 36 weeks until deliver

At each visit, you can expect your blood pressure, weight, and urine to be checked, along with measurements of your baby’s growth and heart rate. Based on your stage, you may undergo ultrasounds, blood tests, and screening for conditions like gestational diabetes, anemia, or infections.

But prenatal visits aren’t just clinical check-ins, they’re also your time to ask questions, voice concerns, and learn. Whether it’s guidance on morning sickness, travel safety, prenatal exercises, labor planning, or mental well-being, we’re here to support you through it all.

At Borneo Mother & Child Hospital, we ensure that each prenatal visit is welcoming, reassuring, and empowering. Our goal is to walk alongside you every step of the way, helping you feel prepared, informed, and truly cared for. Because every check-up isn’t just about health, it’s about nurturing confidence in your motherhood journey.
