Thrush
Thrush is a fungal infection caused by Candida that affects the mouth, causing white patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, and roof of the mouth.
Symptoms:
- White patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, or gums
- Pain or discomfort when swallowing or sucking
- Irritability and difficulty feeding in infants
Treatment:
- Antifungal medications, typically in the form of oral drops, are prescribed.
- Maintain good oral hygiene to prevent the infection from recurring.
- Clean pacifiers and bottle nipples regularly.
